Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking combat-focused gameplay may bounce off the investigation, interaction, and puzzle-led structure.
- Players who want a tightly linear story may hit a wall when choosing among four routes and their different endings.
- Players who dislike offensive or absurd humor may stop at the game's comedic tone.
- Players looking for a modern visual presentation may not connect with its pixel-art retro style.
Our take on City Quest
The likely bounce point is the interaction system: progress depends on trying unusual actions across a city of objects and characters. Players expecting direct combat or clearly signposted objectives may hit a wall when puzzles, minigames, and deliberately absurd solutions become the main way forward.
What is City Quest?
City Quest is a retro point-and-click adventure about a farmer boy trying to establish himself in a large city.
The game offers four separate paths centered on a Hobo, Mafia member, Politician, or Lady of the Night, with distinct supporting characters and multiple conclusions for each route. Exploration covers 13 districts and more than 150 scenes, while over 100 NPCs can provide assistance, distractions, or danger. Players interact with the city through actions such as looking, touching, eating, lying, and other activities. Puzzles, minigames, absurd humor, and numerous comic deaths form the main structure.
