Our take on ChromaGun
The defining mechanic is the link between colored walls and WorkerDroids: each droid is drawn toward a wall of the same color, making color placement central to reaching the exit.
What is ChromaGun?
ChromaGun places players in ChromaTec’s test laboratory, where each chamber must be cleared through an exit door.
The ChromaGun colors walls and WorkerDroids, while the droids move toward walls that match their color. Players use color combinations and droid movement to progress through the chambers. Some doors require triggers to be occupied and remain open only while those triggers are occupied. WorkerDroids are not human-friendly, so avoiding their danger is part of moving through the test areas. The game’s structure centers on solving individual rooms by arranging colored walls, directing droid movement, and reaching the exit.
How ChromaGun plays
- 01Color-Based Puzzles
- WorkerDroids move toward walls that have the same color, making color placement part of the route through each chamber.
- 02Color Mixing
- The ChromaGun uses mixed colors when painting walls and WorkerDroids.
- 03Door Triggers
- Some exit doors open only when their triggers are occupied and close when those triggers are no longer occupied.
- 04WorkerDroid Hazards
- The maintenance droids can create danger while players work through the chambers.
ChromaGun compared to similar games
ChromaGun centers on laboratory chambers where colored walls, WorkerDroids, and door triggers are used to reach exits. Jusant combines action-puzzle climbing with ascent, stamina management, exploration, and multiple paths, giving it a traversal-focused structure rather than ChromaGun’s color-based room puzzles.
