Our take on Chiaro and the Elixir of Life
The first-person VR format centers interaction on tools, objects, and Boka, but limits the game to players equipped for virtual reality rather than a conventional screen-based setup.
What is Chiaro and the Elixir of Life?
This first-person virtual reality adventure follows Chiaro, a young engineer returning to the forest of Neverain.
Chiaro builds Boka, a steam-powered robot, and brings him to life with Elixir, an ancient fuel. Together they seek the lost Fountain of Elixir and the means to restore the race of living machines. The journey includes relationships with Boka, Scoria, Ellary, and the Peanut Butter Pig. Players use the Janus Knife to throw its gem, cut open portals, and explode incendiary bombs. The Salamander’s Breath is a flaming lantern used in puzzle solving and to bring Elixir to its boiling point. Exploration includes rowing to Blue Crab Lake and playing catch with Boka.
