Our take on Change
Its defining format is a short, single-ending text narrative that presents the same growth-focused story through two protagonists: a struggling young woman and an idol producer.
What is Change?
Change is a Chinese text-based game about growth, told through two protagonists.
One is Leyang, a young woman struggling to find direction after moving to Shanghai; the other is an idol producer working for a startup nearing bankruptcy. Their perspectives follow the story of a woman who becomes an idol after failing to settle into life and work in the city. The game uses a visual-novel-style format without a romance focus, horror elements, or deliberately tragic scenes. Real photographs taken in Shanghai form the backgrounds, with illustrated character art placed into those settings. The playthrough lasts about 1–2 hours and has one ending.
How Change plays
- 01Dual protagonist story
- The narrative alternates between Leyang and an idol producer at a struggling startup.
- 02Shanghai photo settings
- Real photographs from Shanghai are used as the game’s backgrounds.
- 03Single ending
- The approximately 1–2 hour story follows one fixed conclusion.
