Our take on CHACAL
Instead of separating a runner’s forward movement from its story, CHACAL links the trip from Patagonia to the capital with a political revolt narrative. Its setting and protagonist replace the more abstract premises often associated with score-focused running games.
What is CHACAL?
CHACAL is a runner-style action game set in a near-future Argentina ruled by a fascist president.
A retired vigilante leaves Patagonia to join a revolution and travel toward the capital. Across 9 levels, the character runs, jumps, crouches, punches, kicks, and uses a pistol while avoiding bullets and fighting police and military forces. The game includes several final bosses, a high-score goal, and a story about choosing between a quiet mountain life and joining the people’s revolt. Its presentation uses retro sprites and 16-bit music, with an animated film in the main menu. The game uses few buttons and offers English and Spanish language options.
