Our take on Cartridge Defense
Players who prefer fixed tower-defense encounters may hit a wall when Sponsored Mode introduces randomized enemy spawns. Those who want a single linear campaign may also find the shift to rogue-like and endless modes a poor fit.
What is Cartridge Defense?
Cartridge Defense combines tower defense with deck building.
More than 300 collectible cards can spawn towers, upgrades, and special abilities. Place towers to change robot routes, then set their targeting priorities with customizable systems. Enemies may drop cards, packs, targeting systems, items, or resources. The campaign has 33 levels across 5 zones, with an expected 30–40 hours of gameplay. Story levels use specific enemy spawn lists, while Sponsored Mode lets players replay completed levels with randomized spawns for bonus loot. The game also has endless and rogue-like modes. Its 9 tower types can each be upgraded to level 5.
