Our take on Bugaboo Pocket
The gentle pet-care focus comes at the cost of action-driven challenge: bugs die only of old age, and the central routine is feeding, cleaning, minigames, and raising insects.
What is Bugaboo Pocket?
In this semi-idle pet game, a scientist studies insects while living in a cabin with her bugs and a penpal.
Feed and furnish their habitats, give them attention, clean up after them, and play minigames to earn poop currency. Raise insects through three life stages, discover their habitats and diets, then release eggs as part of restoring a forest after a fire. Cutscenes, diary pages, and found items reveal the scientist’s story. A compendium records discoveries and opens access to secrets and prizes. The game has nine insect species, three adult color variations per species, personality traits, tarot cards that change gameplay, and facts about real insects. Bugs die only from old age.
