Our take on BROKEN TAPE
Its defining structure is the five-tape investigation: each location must be searched for anomalies, followed by an attempt to neutralize anything found before departure.
What is BROKEN TAPE?
BROKEN TAPE is a first-person walking simulator with a narrative centered on psychological horror.
The player takes the role of a test subject working for the Anomaly Fighting Foundation, an organization that investigates and handles anomalies. The game includes five tapes set in an office, hotel, warehouse, stairway, and firewatch location. Each tape presents an environment to explore while searching for unusual elements. After finding an anomaly, the player must neutralize it before leaving. The settings include seemingly endless workspaces, repetitive hotel corridors, warehouse storage areas, an apparently endless stairway, and a firewatch area where fires must be observed. Exploration also provides researchers with more information about the mysterious tapes and the earlier work connected to them.
