Is Brawl Tactics: Origins worth it for you?
We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Strategy players who want changing runs rather than a fixed campaign
- Deck-building fans who want unit-based tactical battles
- Players who enjoy experimenting with multiple classes and card interactions
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking a fixed, story-led campaign may bounce off the procedurally changing run structure.
- Players who prefer immediate tactical control without deck construction may hit a wall when assembling actions, spells, and card upgrades.
- Players who want a large-scale military strategy game may find the scope centered on classes, decks, units, and individual encounters.
- Players looking for a non-repeating progression path may not enjoy runs that restart with changing maps and rewards.
Our take on Brawl Tactics: Origins
The bounce point arrives during deck and unit preparation: players must choose cards, spells, trinkets, and upgrades before facing changing encounters. Those who want every battle solved through direct positioning alone may lose interest when progression depends on building interactions across a run.
What is Brawl Tactics: Origins?
Brawl Tactics: Origins combines deck-building roguelike progression with tactical RPG battles.
Each run uses procedurally generated maps with different challenges, environments, routes, decks, and trinkets. Players choose between safer and riskier paths, assemble decks from actions and spells, and improve cards by adding items. Trinkets can introduce new interactions or reinforce existing ones, while the Forge and events provide direct unit improvements. The game includes 12 classes with different strengths and weaknesses, along with 160+ cards, 120+ trinkets, 40+ enemies, 11 challenges, and 61 achievements. Ascension mode includes 10 levels, with Ascension 10 as the stated target.
