Our take on Bonfire
The bounce point may come when exploration reaches the darkness beyond the bonfire’s glow. Players seeking a broad view of the planet may find the focus on the crash site and its nearby jungle restrictive, while the fire also frames encounters with predators.
What is Bonfire?
Play as Space Scout 817 after crash-landing on an unknown planet three hundred light-years from Earth.
With a fading bonfire, a robot companion named Debbie, and a limited supply of nourishment cylinders, explore the crash site and alien jungle. VR controllers let players eat and build the bonfire. Use a scanner to investigate the surroundings and work with Debbie to repair communications. Encounters with alien inhabitants can lead to friendships, while alien predators can be defended against using fire. Choices influence the story’s outcomes, including whether Scout 817 follows the captain or conscience.
