Our take on Blueplanet VR v2
The bounce point arrives when scenic exploration is expected to carry the session. Users looking for combat, progression systems, or tightly defined objectives may stop at the diorama format, while hang-gliding sequences appear only in selected locations rather than defining the entire experience.
What is Blueplanet VR v2?
Blueplanet VR Explore v2 presents 90 volumetric scenes based on scenic and cultural heritage locations, including temples in Indonesia, national parks in the southwestern United States, Iceland, Nepal, and India.
The experience allows spatial exploration within each diorama, with interactive elements intended to provide additional context. Selected locations include hang-gliding flights over terrain. Version 2 adds 40 scenes to the 50-scene base app, a scrollable lobby, scene-to-scene travel controls, faster hang-gliding speed, adjustable viewing height, favorite buttons, and a training video. The application primarily supports Vive and Index headsets; the vendor identifies the Quest version as the best native version. A free demo includes 4 sample scenes.
