Our take on Blood West
The store framing emphasizes stealth, exploration, and build variety, but the game also permits direct gunfights and includes substantial violent combat. Its three-map structure and stated completion times make it a sizeable campaign rather than a brief stealth experience.
What is Blood West?
Blood West is a stealth-focused first-person shooter set in a corrupted Wild West.
Players control an undead gunslinger seeking to purge his curse across three open-ended scenarios: the Canyons, the Swamp, and the Mountains. Exploration includes hidden places, secret stashes, missions, and items found across the maps. Enemies can be approached by scouting and attacking from concealment or by using firearms, melee weapons, and archery weapons. Perks, a skill tree, and artifacts support different playstyles, including stealth, revolver combat, and berserker builds.
Fully voiced NPCs provide stories and missions, and interactions can lead to rewards or conflict. The game includes revolvers, rifles, shotguns, magical or possessed firearms, consumables, explosives, and incendiaries. Average completion takes over 20 hours, or over 35 hours for full exploration.
