Our take on BIG SHOTS
The defining detail is its unrestricted VR movement: mech pilots move freely through wave-based combat instead of standing in preset locations or teleporting between positions.
What is BIG SHOTS?
BIG SHOTS is a virtual-reality action roguelite built around wave-based alien shooting.
Players pilot a mech through infested areas, fight invading creatures, and search for the source of the invasion. Runs offer temporary upgrades that shape the mech during play, while permanent upgrades can be obtained from a hangar shop between runs. Exterminations support solo play or cooperation with one other player, with cross-platform multiplayer available. The game uses a free-movement system rather than fixed standing positions or teleportation, allowing players to move around during combat. The setting follows the BIG SHOTS Initiative, created after an experiment triggers an alien invasion and humanity needs mech pilots to reclaim Earth.
How BIG SHOTS plays
- 01Run-Based Upgrades
- Temporary choices during each run combine with permanent additions purchased at the hangar.
- 02Two-Player Cooperation
- A second player can join extermination runs, with cross-platform play supported.
- 03Free VR Movement
- The movement system allows unrestricted motion instead of fixed positions or teleportation.
BIG SHOTS compared to similar games
Abyssus also combines multiplayer shooting with roguelite progression, but it uses hand-crafted levels and brine-powered weapons that can be refitted with ancient technologies. BIG SHOTS centers on VR mech piloting, alien waves, temporary run upgrades, and permanent hangar upgrades, with solo play and two-player cross-platform cooperation.
