Our take on Beloved Rapture
Its defining structure is the shift between directed story chapters and open-ended exploration, combining a personal coming-of-age narrative with optional combat, quests, Rune hunting, and other diversions.
What is Beloved Rapture?
Beloved Rapture is a mid-length, retro-style RPG about Johan, a young man drawn into a conflict involving the Aeons and the kingdom of Veritas.
Exploration moves through pixel-art environments with running, swimming, climbing, and dragon flight. Battles use turn-based combat with Active Mode, where enemies attack in real time, or Wait Mode, which pauses during decisions. Six playable characters bring different skills and statistics to party building, while gear and bonus level-up points support character growth. There are no random encounters or required grinding. Optional activities include colosseum fights, extra quests, Rune hunting, and gambling gold at the bazaar. Chapters alternate between more directed and open-ended sections.
