Our take on Beatblock
The built-in editor adds creative depth, but it also shifts part of the experience from playing prepared stages to making and tuning custom ones. The core design remains centered on timing blocks to music, so players seeking varied genres of interaction may find the focus narrow.
What is Beatblock?
Beatblock is a rhythm-action game where players control Cranky, a paddle-wielding character who strikes blocks in time with music.
The Atom Map introduces the core rules, then presents four block types across more than 25 songs, each with distinct visual styles. Challenge stages combine mechanics, while Marathon mode links songs in sequence for an endurance-focused run. An unlockable costume system allows Cranky’s appearance to be changed. The built-in level editor uses the same tool as the development team’s stage workflow, letting players chart levels for their own songs and use effects and other functions. Accessibility settings provide additional ways to adjust play.
