Our take on Beastro
The cozy restaurant framing understates how much of the structure depends on Caretaker decks and turn-based monster battles. Cooking is not only a management activity: meals determine combat cards, while adventurers return with ingredients from their expeditions.
What is Beastro?
Beastro follows Panko, a young chef who takes over a restaurant in Palo Pori after a teacher disappears.
The workflow combines gathering ingredients, caring for animals, growing crops, and foraging for herbs with cooking minigames. Meals serve townsfolk and Caretakers, adventurers whose tastes vary by flavour region and daily cravings. Ingredients shape each Caretaker’s battle deck, with each one adding a card. Caretakers then fight monsters in turn-based encounters inspired by trick-taking card games, using flavour matching, balancing, and enhancing effects. Returning adventurers may bring back unusual ingredients. Restaurant progression includes new recipes, a skill tree, community-focused menu choices, and adjustable decor.
