Our take on BEAST: False Prophet
The presentation gives equal weight to tactical combat and a rich narrative, but the game remains in Early Access. Its current scope therefore sits between a playable tactical RPG and a project still being shaped through player feedback.
What is BEAST: False Prophet?
BEAST: False Prophet is an Early Access tactical RPG set in a plague-stricken Carpathian homeland during the dark ages.
A veteran returns after 10 years of Ottoman slavery and leads a warband against raiders, enemy hordes, and the forces surrounding a demented prophet-king. Combat uses turn-based, gridless positioning, ranged weapons, and visceral melee encounters. Comrades bring different skills and abilities, while the Insanity system presents moral choices during battles. Players can cooperate with their soldiers or consume them to strengthen Beast abilities. Choices affect events inside and outside combat. The game presents a grim story with morally ambiguous characters and draws on Carpathian legends.
How BEAST: False Prophet plays

- Battles use turn-based squad commands with positioning that is not tied to a grid.
- 02Warband Companions

- 05Carpathian Setting
- The campaign follows a veteran pursuing a quest to end a plague amid raiders and a prophet-king.
