ActionIs Barricade worth it for you?
We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Zombie-shooter players who want to build and repair defenses between attacks.
- FPS players who prefer shooting without reloading or aiming down sights.
- Players who enjoy balancing weapon purchases and upgrades against defensive spending.
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking a campaign structure rather than repeated zombie waves may find the round-based format limiting.
- Players who want detailed gun handling with reloads and aiming down sights may hit a wall at the simplified shooting system.
- Players looking for a large map selection may find the 3 included maps restrictive.
Our take on Barricade
Players who rely on reloads or aiming down sights may bounce off as soon as combat begins: Barricade removes both. The other pressure point is each round's spending choice, where money for weapons and upgrades competes with replacing props and maintaining defenses.
What is Barricade?
Barricade is a wave-based first-person zombie shooter with a 90s aesthetic.
Each round combines shooting with building and repairing defenses: gather physics props from the map and attach them to the environment, placing them freely without a grid. Zombies attack the barricades, so destroyed props can be replaced while weapons and defenses compete for spending. Guns have alternate fire modes, and the game removes reloading and aiming down sights. Players can purchase weapons and upgrade guns, with upgrades available without a stated cap. The game includes 3 maps, each with its own props, defensible rooms, and layout.
How Barricade plays

- 02Weapon alternate fire
