Our take on Barrage
The defining constraint is the shared action system: each turn allows one choice, while stronger actions consume more Engineers and can leave later options unavailable.
What is Barrage?
Barrage is a turn-based strategy game about developing a hydroelectric corporation.
Players assign a limited pool of Engineers to actions such as acquiring Machinery, managing water, building dams and other structures, and producing energy. Action locations are shared, so each turn requires one choice while players anticipate opponents’ plans; stronger actions require more Engineers. Corporations have distinct progression rewards, while CEOs provide passive abilities and Executive Officers alter the rules and available play styles. Objectives, Energy Contracts, and Technologies are selected randomly for each game. Solo play supports customized factions and Executive Officers, while online play enables competition against players worldwide. The PC version preserves the actions, resources, and visual elements of the board game.
How Barrage plays
- 01Shared Action Spaces
- All players use the same action locations, and each turn permits only one action per player.
- 02Limited Engineers
- Actions require different numbers of Engineers, making worker allocation central to each round.
- 03Variable Corporation Roles
- Different CEOs and Executive Officers change passive abilities, rules, and available play styles.
- 04Randomized Objectives
- Objectives, Energy Contracts, and Technologies are chosen from the available pool for each game.
- 05Solo And Online Play
- The game supports solitary sessions with customization options and online matches against players worldwide.
