Is BallisticNG worth it for you?
We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Anti-gravity racing fans who want combat and futuristic courses rather than conventional vehicle racing
- Racing campaign players who want varied modes and challenges instead of only standalone races
- Game modders who want to create tracks, ships, campaigns, and code modifications rather than only play built-in content
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players who prefer measured racing may find the available speeds, which can reach extremely high levels, too fast-paced
- Players seeking a narrowly focused racing game may find the mix of campaign, custom events, combat, multiplayer, VR, and modding too broad
- Players looking for a non-combat racer may not want track pickups that can be used against competitors
- Players sensitive to fast-moving imagery or white flashes should note the game's stated seizure warning
Our take on BallisticNG
The game’s defining detail is its open modding framework: players can make more than tracks and ships, including campaigns, code modifications, music, and sound replacements.
What is BallisticNG?
BallisticNG is an anti-gravity combat racing game set in the 2159 Anti-Gravity League.
Races take place on futuristic courses, where weapons collected from the track can be used against competitors. Five speed classes and gameplay modifiers adjust race pace, while steering, pitching, and airbrake assists provide separate control support. The campaign includes different modes and challenges. Custom races let players configure a mode and difficulty and add up to 16 racers. Modes include tournaments, time trials, eliminators, survival, and stunt events. Multiplayer supports two-player split-screen and online play through direct IP or Steam. The game also supports SteamVR and includes tools for making tracks, ships, campaigns, liveries, code modifications, music, and sound replacements.
