What is Back to Hearth?
Back to Hearth is a short, reflective game set in an abandoned Ukrainian village after a calamity.
The central task is restoring five homes by cleaning rooms and repairing household damage with tools such as a hammer, broom, and screwdriver. Certain fixes involve drawing gestures. Once a home is restored and its stove is lit, residents return after a short wait, allowing their stories to be heard. Exploration reveals belongings, amulets, memories, and other details connected to the former inhabitants. Interacting with some objects adds them to Collections, which can be reviewed from the main menu. The game also includes seasonal village scenery, opportunities to eat apples, grapes, and raspberries, and moments spent chasing chickens.
