Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking varied motorcycle navigation may find the automatically moving bike limits control to steering, attacks, and jumps.
- Players looking for broad combat weapon selection may find the focus on Kay’s reactive sword and enemies’ guns restrictive.
- Players seeking multiplayer play may not find it suited to that preference.
Our take on Axiom of Maria: Prologue
Its combat centers on one distinctive pairing: a reactive sword against gun-using foes. That focus leaves less room for varied weapon styles, while motorcycle sections constrain movement to steering, attacks, and jumps as the bike advances automatically.
What is Axiom of Maria: Prologue?
Axiom of Maria: Prologue is an action-adventure game set in a depopulated Seoul managed by AI.
Kay, a former instructor with the 707 Special Missions Group, fights the 15th AI Squadron after her husband disappears and is identified as an Irregular. Rescued from detention with her daughter by a group called the School, she begins searching for him. Combat centers on a sword that reacts to enemy gunfire, while foes primarily attack with guns.
Motorcycle sequences move forward automatically; players steer Kay to close in on enemies, attack, and jump over raised roads. The story involves Beyond, a virtual world where the dead are backed up, and a conflict between the Irregulars, who seek to destroy it, and AISOC, which oversees it.
