- Players looking for cooperative multiplayer should consider a game with explicitly described group play.
Our take on Auto Cast
The automatic spell attacks keep combat focused on building and upgrading abilities, but leave less emphasis on direct spell-by-spell control. The progression loop also ties advancement to surviving combat and returning with prestige after failure.
What is Auto Cast?
Auto Cast is a 2D top-down action game with RPG and shoot 'em up elements.
Players fight waves of enemies and bosses using spells that cast themselves, with talents and masteries to develop. Leveling up spells, collecting items from chests, and forging relics at anvils shape the hero’s build. Defeating bosses attracts Soul Forgers, who grant boons, while the being that took the hero’s soul remains a threat. The game also includes special events and a shop where coins can be spent to increase the hero’s power or obtain more coins. Unlocks such as spells and items carry forward as prestige grows after failure. The challenge posed is to reach level 35.
How Auto Cast plays
- 01Self-casting spells
- Spells have distinct talents and masteries that can be developed as the character progresses.
- 02Item crafting
- Chests contain build-shaping gear, and anvils allow relics to be forged for added power.
- 03Boss encounters
- Bosses can apply debuffs, and defeating them brings Soul Forgers who grant boons.
- 04Prestige unlocks
- Progress after defeat can open additional spells and items, while coins can be spent in the shop to increase the hero’s power.
