Its defining structure is the combination of a collectible-card-style deck system with a randomly generated hex-map war, making resource gathering, army movement, and dice-based battles parts of the same turn-based campaign.
What is Armageddon Empires?
Armageddon Empires combines turn-based strategy with deck building, board-game maps, and computer-controlled warfare.
Players choose one of four factions, assemble a deck from seven card types, and compete for Humans, Materials, Energy, and Technology across a randomly generated wasteland. Armies explore hexes, encounter independent units and facilities, and fight through ground or air attacks. Action Points govern movement and other actions, while dice rolls, fate points, and tactic cards shape combat results. Armies can include one hero and up to eight units, subject to command ratings.
Victory comes from occupying or destroying enemy strongholds, using direct campaigns, laboratories, stealth, sabotage, or secret weapons. Normal maps support battles against one AI opponent, while huge maps include all three opposing factions. The two listed expansions are included.
