Is ARKOS worth it for you?
We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Fans of 1990s-style first-person shooters who want fantasy combat
- Players who enjoy destructible environments alongside shooting
- Solo action-game players looking for an episodic dungeon campaign with boss battles
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking a broad modern shooter with extensive weapon variety may find seven weapons restrictive
- Players wanting exploration without combat or puzzle elements may find the action-focused structure limiting
- Players looking for multiplayer shooting will not find that focus here
Our take on ARKOS
The retro shooter format keeps the focus on direct combat, voxel destruction, and dungeon progression, but that emphasis leaves less room for broader systems such as multiplayer play or a wider arsenal.
What is ARKOS?
Play as Arkos, a white wizard searching an ancient castle for a powerful weapon once owned by a missing teacher.
This first-person fantasy shooter uses a destructible voxel environment and draws inspiration from 1990s titles such as Heretic, Hexen, and Catacomb3D. The game includes seven weapons, seven episodes with boss battles, three difficulty modes, and puzzle elements alongside its retro action. A MIDI soundtrack by kubikami accompanies the dungeon exploration and combat.

ARKOS compared to similar games
ARKOS focuses on solo first-person fantasy shooting across seven episodes, with destructible voxel environments, boss battles, and puzzle elements. Hentai Vs Furries is a third-person shooter with quests, unlockable skins, multiple camera angles, emotes, and a main mode plus a separate “Pleasure” mode.
