Our take on Arcane Wilds
Resource gathering is not just a background economy: supplies remain where they are collected, turning transport routes and raids into tactical concerns. The game also replaces a single conventional setting with factions and systems that combine western imagery, fantasy creatures, and survival missions.
What is Arcane Wilds?
Arcane Wilds combines real-time strategy with survival gameplay in a western fantasy setting.
Resources stay at their gathering locations, so factions must collect, transport, allocate, or steal supplies for construction, troop recruitment, special abilities, and technology. Missions take place on procedurally generated maps with varied biomes, mystical creatures, enemy stockpiles, and relics. Completing missions and returning treasures earns fame for building, upgrading, and customizing a home island. The game supports solo play and cooperative sessions with up to three friends, with selectable difficulty and mission complexity. Three factions offer different battlefield approaches: the ranged, cannon-equipped Army; the explosive and rapid-firing Colony; and the mobile, ability-focused Tribe.
How Arcane Wilds plays
- 01Localized Resource Economy
- Gathered supplies remain at their original sites, making transport routes and enemy raids part of battlefield planning.
- 02Cooperative Survival
- Missions can be played alone or with as many as three friends against mystical creatures and other hazards.
- 03Procedural Missions
- Maps are generated for missions across distinct biomes, with adjustable difficulty and mission complexity.
- 04Island Development
- Looted treasures and earned fame fund construction, upgrades, and customization on a personal home island.
- 05Three Factions
- The Army uses ranged cannons, the Colony fields explosive barrels and gatling guns, and the Tribe relies on mobile structures and disruptive abilities.
Arcane Wilds compared to similar games
