Our take on Apotheker
The shop-and-profit premise receives strong emphasis, but the game also places substantial weight on branching relationships, moral choices, and several campaign modes. The commercial framing does not fully convey how much of the structure concerns narrative decisions and differing approaches to each puzzle.
What is Apotheker?
Apotheker is a single-player logic puzzle game about running an inherited potion shop.
Ingredients alter a brew’s effects, while adding more can increase instability. Tools such as fermentation, dilution, and blending modify ingredients before they enter the cauldron. Each potion puzzle allows multiple solutions, with over 120 puzzles across Experiment, Efficiency, and Expert modes. Resources and funds must be managed while preparing potions for customers with different intentions. The story includes choices involving friendship, betrayal, sympathy, profit, and responses to violence in the city, leading to multiple endings. Unlockable tools introduce additional ways to approach puzzles. A complete original soundtrack accompanies the campaign.
