What is Aphelion?
Aphelion is a third-person science-fiction adventure on Persephone, a frozen planet where astronauts Ariane and Thomas are separated after their ship crashes.
Ariane uses a pathfinder to navigate shifting terrain and tackles climbs, grappling swings, and other hazardous traversal. Injured Thomas relies on observation and investigation to survive. Across their separate journeys, the astronauts gather clues about the planet’s strange conditions and the crash. Exploration tools include an oxygen tank and grappling hook. A hostile lifeform stalks them, so stealth sequences involve avoiding detection and using the environment to evade it. The story follows their effort to reunite and complete their mission while confronting a reality-bending phenomenon and the unresolved history between them.
