Our take on Ancient Cities
Rather than centring on a single ruler or army, this city builder follows a tribe across generations and combines settlement management with regional decisions to trade, attack, or migrate. Citizen task automation shifts some day-to-day work away from direct micromanagement.
What is Ancient Cities?
Ancient Cities is a survival-focused city-building game set in a procedurally generated European Stone Age world, spanning the later Ice Age through the Neolithic period.
Lead a tribe across multiple generations by balancing people and supplies, advancing technology, and expanding a settlement. Environments extend from the Mediterranean region to Scandinavia, with local cultures shaping wildlife, structures, tools, materials, and knowledge. Citizens select work according to their abilities and experience, limiting the need for constant individual commands. On the regional map, tribes may exchange goods, raid nearby groups, or relocate when available resources diminish.
How Ancient Cities plays
- 01Citizen task automation
- People perform work matched to their individual skills and knowledge.
- 02Regional tribe choices
- Trade with nearby tribes, attack them, or migrate when supplies become scarce.
- 03Stone Age settings
- Choose locations from the Mediterranean to Scandinavia and periods spanning the end of the Ice Age through the end of the Neolithic.
