Our take on Algorithm
The focus on algorithm construction means the game gives up broader gameplay variety. Progress centers on solving path-based tests, with no stated emphasis on combat, exploration, character development, or other activity types.
What is Algorithm?
Algorithm is a puzzle game about creating procedures for an artificial intelligence.
For each test, the artificial intelligence analyzes the task and constructs an algorithm to overcome it. The player then builds a path from the traces to the finish, allowing progress to the next test. The challenges are presented in stages, beginning with simple tasks and continuing toward more difficult ones. The game focuses on creating algorithms from scratch for intellectual tasks that are described as having no known solution algorithm. Progress comes from completing all levels through this step-by-step path-building process.
How Algorithm plays
- 01Algorithm Creation
- Each test requires an algorithm to be built from scratch before progress can continue.
- 02Trace-Based Paths
- A path must be created from the traces to the finish for each test.
- 03Rising Difficulty
- The levels progress from the simplest tasks to the most difficult ones.
