The two-part structure trades a purely hands-off tower-defense experience for direct combat during attacks. Players must switch from planning placements to handling weapons in the level, so those who want to focus on only one of those activities may find the split restrictive.
What is AIRA VR?
AIRA VR combines tower placement with first-person combat in a two-phase structure.
The strategic phase takes place aboard a command ship, where towers are placed on a holographic table. The action phase moves the player into the level to fight attacking spaceships alongside those defenses and protect a facility. Weapons and towers can be upgraded after each attack wave, with choices setting tactical priorities. The campaign includes 7+ levels, multiple waves, additional difficulty levels and VR cutscenes. Survival mode features an endless enemy wave, with two versions of that mode. The game also includes different enemy types, unlockable towers and weapons, and movement techniques intended for roomscale VR.
