RPGIs AIdventure worth it for you?
We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Players who want to shape text-based stories through their own actions rather than follow a fixed plot
- Writers who want to create and exchange scenarios with other players
- Players interested in AI-narrated adventures across genres such as fantasy, horror, and survival
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking a tightly scripted narrative may find the AI-led storytelling less structured.
- Players who prefer visual, action-focused gameplay may not get the experience they want from a text adventure.
- Players looking for a puzzle game or a survival-crafting game may prefer alternatives focused on those activities.
Our take on AIdventure
The open-ended AI narration gives players room to steer and revise stories, but sacrifices the fixed pacing and authored sequence of a scripted adventure. Its experience depends on text interaction and generated responses rather than a set progression through scenes.
What is AIdventure?
AIdventure is a text adventure in which an AI narrates the story.
It includes 27 starting scenarios spanning genres such as fantasy, Lovecraft-inspired fiction, and zombies. Players can write new stories or modify existing ones with the story and scenario editors, then share content with other players. Interaction modes include Say, Try, Do, and Story. A character system uses stats to determine whether actions succeed or fail, while short- and long-term memory and a lore book support story continuity. Players can change AI and game settings, request another generated response, and use automatic translation. The game supports CUDA and several GPT- and GPT-Neo-based models. Stories and scenarios are stored as JSON files, and Remote Play Together allows collaborative writing.
