Our take on Ad Fundum
The focus on drilling, hauling, upgrades, and machine maintenance leaves less room for direct combat or broad action sequences. Procedural maps add run variety, but they also make the experience less about following a fixed, authored route through every underground area.
What is Ad Fundum?
Ad Fundum is an underground adventure set in a dieselpunk world.
Players pilot a giant mech through rock, gather minerals, and return to base to sell them. Fuel, temperature, and hull damage must be managed while drilling, with earthquakes changing the terrain and creating dangerous resource opportunities. Money can restore the base, improve mining performance, and unlock abilities. Each mech component can be upgraded separately, allowing different builds. The game includes eight locations with distinct visuals, mechanics, and threats, plus artifacts and expedition remnants tied to hidden history and special upgrades. Procedurally generated maps make runs different, while several difficulty levels, custom difficulty settings, and multiple story endings provide different ways to play.
