Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking a linear story without repeated-day structure may find the looping format restrictive.
- Players looking for combat-focused or action-heavy gameplay may find the emphasis on stories, choices, puzzles, and minigames too restrained.
- Players uninterested in character secrets, side stories, or period nostalgia may have little reason to explore beyond the main events.
Our take on A Perfect Day
The repeating-day structure supports layered stories and investigation, but the protagonist’s lack of memories between loops removes the usual advantage of carrying knowledge forward. Progress therefore depends on how the connected situations are revisited and interpreted.
What is A Perfect Day?
A Perfect Day is a narrative puzzle adventure set on the last day of the 20th century in China.
Players take the role of a sixth-grade student who greets classmates, explores the town, investigates secrets, and chooses daily activities. The day repeats, but the protagonist does not retain memories from previous loops. Four main stories connect through a narrative network, alongside side stories about friendship, teenage love, family conflict, and other characters’ lives. The game includes Mini 4WD racing, arcade activities, and a console with collectible cartridges. Players can assemble Mini 4WD vehicles, challenge tracks and rivals, and pursue the town’s top position. A crayon-style visual presentation depicts Chinese life and objects from the 1990s.
