Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking a broad range of described combat mechanics may find the rival confrontation narrow, since the stated conflict centers on Vadik and his city.
- Players looking for a highly varied setting may find the structure focused on expanding one kingdom, managing its resources, and overcoming one named rival.
- Players who want puzzle or party-game systems will find kingdom expansion and strategic rivalry instead.
Our take on A New World: Kingdoms
The bounce point is the rival system: players who expect varied battlefield mechanics may hit a wall when the conflict narrows to Vadik, his warriors, and three stated ways to win—destroying or buying his city, or building a monument.
What is A New World: Kingdoms?
A New World: Kingdoms is a turn-based 4X strategy game about expanding a kingdom and managing its resources.
Players develop a city by constructing farms, a town, a mine, and other buildings. Income, available resources, and the happiness of the population require attention during expansion. Mountains create obstacles on the map, while Vadik and his warriors oppose the creation of a new empire. The story follows survivors who settle on Horga after a devastating battle on the continent of Holme. Most leaders agree to peace, trade, and shared scientific knowledge, but Vadik rejects the agreement and builds another empire. Victory can come from destroying his city, constructing a monument, or buying his city.
