Players travel through an open world, choosing destinations and activities while searching for skills and items that can improve their chances in the concluding fight. Combat customization comes from combining Ki attacks, dodges, and melee strikes into a personal fighting style. Time spent exploring must be weighed against preparation for the battle with Afran, which determines the fate of the world. Once the ninth day begins, exploration ends and the final encounter takes place.
