Examinations, legal decisions, trade, writing, and transport replace a combat-led progression, while policy choices connect personal advancement with wider political change.
What is 大宋广记?
Set in Northern Song China from the first Jiayou year of Emperor Renzong through the Xifeng reforms under Emperor Shenzong, this historical simulation follows a displaced person who enters government through the imperial examination.
The current version offers a civil-official route involving examination questions from Song provincial and palace tests, legal cases based on historical records, government trade, book writing, grain transport, and maritime trade. Historical figures including Wang Anshi, Cai Ting, Wen Yanbo, and Sima Guang appear during the political developments. The game also includes nearly one hundred short stories from Yijianzhi. Player choices and final national attributes produce multiple endings.
