Our take on 18Korea
Railroad strategy games often focus on gradual network growth, but this one interrupts that structure with the Korean War. The destruction of tracks and stations turns regional planning into a before-and-after calculation, while stock trading and company control add a financial layer.
What is 18Korea?
18Korea is an online multiplayer strategy game for 2 to 5 players, set on the Korean Peninsula during the 19th and 20th centuries.
Players establish fictional railroad companies, seek major-shareholder positions, and purchase stock in other firms. Rail lines and stations connect cities and regions, with players cooperating on routes or obstructing competing plans. The Korean War changes the board during play: tracks and stations are destroyed, and the North Korean region can no longer support business afterward. Thirty fictional companies are based in major cities, while 30 asset cards provide additional choices for each company. The objective is to build profitable businesses through company management, rail operations, stock trading, and adaptation to the wartime disruption.
