The defining structure is its split perspective: two players separately inhabit the spouses in the same marital dispute, turning the argument into a shared decision about whether the relationship can hold together.
What is 10mg: Locked In?
A two-player visual novel about a marriage under strain during a period of lockdown.
Each participant takes control of one spouse and presents that character’s perspective during an argument. The game asks both players to coordinate well enough to determine whether the relationship can continue, with different possible conclusions based on how the dispute is handled. One player uses keyboard controls to make selections and submit responses, while the other uses a mouse. The story is set in the United Kingdom roughly three weeks after the start of a total lockdown and draws on interviews with people who experienced tense lockdown circumstances. It is part of the 10mg collection of short games, each intended to last 10 minutes.
