Our take on 10 Years After
Instead of presenting horror as a fixed sequence of encounters, the game places survival systems, exploration, voiced story material, and hostile NPC encounters inside an open-world structure. Its early-alpha state also makes ongoing changes part of the experience.
What is 10 Years After?
10 Years After is a single-player, open-world survival horror adventure set after a government injection creates a peaceful society, then causes events to go wrong.
The game combines a voiced, character-led story with audio diaries, a full soundtrack, hunger and thirst, crafting, hunting, infected enemies, firearms, melee items, puzzles, hostile NPCs, dynamic weather, a day-and-night cycle, and apocalyptic radio broadcasts. Players can use quiet takedowns against hostile NPCs to avoid alerting others. The game is presented as an early alpha with bugs, crashes, incomplete mechanics, missing features, a basic save system, and additional quests and main-story content still planned.
