Our take on X-Mutation
Rather than relying on a fixed character class, the game makes bodily mutation the central progression system. Its top-down action structure also incorporates dungeon-crawler attributes, talent development, elemental interactions, and multiple firing modes.
What is X-Mutation?
X-Mutation is a hardcore 3D top-down rogue-lite action game about surviving monster hordes as the subject of a biological experiment.
Players transform their bodies into weapons, select from more than 100 mutations, and configure up to four weapons with five passive abilities. Battles use five damage types—Physical, Fire, Frost, Lightning, and Water—with elemental interactions such as slowing enemies or triggering chain reactions. Each level offers three randomly generated upgrades, while earned talent points develop abilities through a changing talent map and can unlock permanent buffs. Runs take place in varied 3D arenas containing over 50 monster types and 12 bosses. Movement includes jumping and rolling, and combat supports manual firing or auto-fire.
