Our take on Witch Stone
The bounce point arrives when direct collection stops working: required stones must be made to fall by removing others, while a level timer keeps the board moving. Later, burning stones and rune enchantments add further rules for players who want a simple, unchanging match-three loop.
What is Witch Stone?
Witch Stone is a 2D hand-drawn arcade game based on match-three mechanics.
Players help the witch Marie collect runes containing mana to restore her vitality. Some stones cannot be taken directly, so other stones must be removed to make the required pieces fall and break. Each level has a time limit; missing it brings a curse and another chance to improve. Later stages add burning stones that destroy nearby pieces, along with magic that enchants stones with a particular rune. These effects can produce more mana as Marie's need increases. The game presents a progressively changing challenge: it becomes harder as play continues, or simpler when its mechanics are mastered.
How Witch Stone plays
- 01Falling Rune Stones
- Required stones are collected by clearing other pieces so they drop and break.
- 02Timed Levels
- Each stage gives a limited period for gathering the needed mana.
- 03Second Chances
- Missing a level's time limit triggers a curse but allows another attempt to improve.
- 04Burning Stones
- Later gameplay introduces pieces that destroy neighboring stones.
- 05Rune Enchantments
- Magic can mark stones with a specific rune to produce more mana.
