Our take on Whip! Whip!
The arcade structure gives the game a clear focus on stages, bosses, score attacks, and time attacks. That focus comes at the expense of the broader role-playing systems and character development found in games built around those elements.
What is Whip! Whip!?
Whip!
Whip! is an 8-bit-style action game about Tira, a dessert hunter exploring ruins for a recipe that can revive an ancient dessert. The ruins contain buried golems, including one shaped like a mitten, and Tira discovers that the legendary dessert is real. The game includes 100 stages and ten unique bosses. Two-player co-op allows a partner to join during solo play, while a fallen player can be revived in co-op. Completing the game with two players reveals a true ending. Score attack and time attack modes offer additional challenges, and desserts can be shared. A controller is required to play. The soundtrack is by COSIO from ZUNTATA.
