Our take on Wave Mechanics
Instead of a campaign, character progression, or encounter-based structure, this strategy puzzle centers on matching colors within a frame. Its procedural format replaces a fixed puzzle sequence with 49 newly generated puzzles at each new game start.
What is Wave Mechanics?
Wave Mechanics is a color-matching puzzle game.
Each puzzle contains elements and corresponding sections of a frame. The objective is to make every element match the color of its assigned frame section. Active elements can change the colors of all elements within their range in a selected direction. After each use, an active element’s range becomes smaller, so the order and direction of its uses affect which elements can be changed. The game includes 49 procedurally generated puzzles each time a new game starts.
How Wave Mechanics plays
- 01Shrinking effect range
- An active element reaches fewer elements after each use.
- 02Procedural puzzle generation
- Starting a new game produces 49 puzzles.
- 03Directional color changes
- Active elements alter the colors of elements within range along a selected direction.
