Our take on VR Invaders
Rather than relying only on arcade shooting, the game places its drone battles inside a story about entering a trapped user’s virtual reality session. It also separates the narrative campaign from score-focused Arcade and endurance Survival modes.
What is VR Invaders?
Play as freelance hacker Thomas Hall, a Diver entering a virtual reality session to rescue a user trapped by a software glitch or virus.
The game combines a story-driven sci-fi campaign with fast arcade shooting. Combat includes slowing time, blocking or evading projectiles, destroying cover, and using power-ups to activate dual blasters or alternate weapon modes such as lasers and plasma guns. Levels move between contrasting virtual environments, while different drone types require changing tactics and bosses appear at the end of each level. Separate arcade and Survival modes provide score-based and endurance play. Arcade mode has three difficulty levels, combo scoring, and incoming bullets that can be shot.
How VR Invaders plays
- 01Time Control
- A time-freezing ability creates openings for attacks, evasive movement, or checking nearby threats.
- 02Weapon Power-Ups
- Defeated enemies can drop upgrades that temporarily provide dual blasters or alternate laser and plasma firing modes.
- 03Destructible Cover
- Combat can damage environmental elements and remove protection used by enemies.
- 04Arcade Modes
- Separate Arcade and Survival modes support score chasing and extended fights against enemy waves.
- 05Changing Enemy Types
- Drones behave differently, and level-ending bosses require changes in combat tactics.
