RPGIs Voor De Kroon worth it for you?
We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Medieval warfare fans who want to direct formations and also fight in third person
- Players interested in creating custom units, factions, castles, or campaigns
- History-minded players who want a campaign set in the 13th-century Low Countries
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players who want combat to stay entirely at the tactical-command level may hit a wall when the game shifts into third-person fighting.
- Players seeking a large set of native campaigns may find the current campaign scope limited to the first Low Countries story.
- Players looking for a game outside medieval warfare may find its setting and battles too specific.
Our take on Voor De Kroon
The clearest sticking point is the perspective shift: players who prefer to manage a battle only from above must also enter third-person combat. Campaign-focused players may likewise find the current native selection narrow, with one Low Countries conflict and two playable sides.
What is Voor De Kroon?
Voor De Kroon is a medieval wargame that combines troop command with direct combat.
Players can maneuver formations and manage charges from an RTS camera, then switch to third person to fight on the battlefield. Its arms, armor, weapons, and equipment draw on medieval manuscript and effigy references. The included Warforge editors let players create units, factions, castles, and campaigns. Created content can be shared through Steam Workshop, and community-made content can also be played. The first native campaign is set in the 13th-century Low Countries: play as Floris V against the Frisians or as the Frisians against feudal lords.
