Our take on Voodoo Vince: Remastered
Rather than treating environmental hazards as obstacles to avoid, the game makes them central to combat: Vince uses falling objects, lightning, and machinery against enemies by taking the damage himself. This replaces the usual attack pattern with self-inflicted voodoo techniques.
What is Voodoo Vince: Remastered?
Voodoo Vince: Remastered is a character platformer following Vince across New Orleans streets, Louisiana swamps, cemeteries, sewers, and an evil carnival.
The campaign contains 30 levels, with Vince running, jumping, fighting, and using environmental dangers as part of his attacks. More than 30 voodoo techniques let hazards such as falling safes, lightning, and blenders damage enemies through harm inflicted on Vince. The game also includes vehicle sections featuring a fanboat, submarine, airplane, and a rat ride. Minigames appear throughout the quest, alongside encounters with unusual creatures and villains. Vince’s objective is to locate and rescue his keeper, Madam Charmaine, from Kosmo The Inscrutable.
How Voodoo Vince: Remastered plays
- 01Hazard-based combat
- Vince turns falling objects, electrical strikes, and other dangers into attacks that injure opponents through his own body.
- 02Thirty campaign levels
- The adventure spans swamps, graveyards, the French Quarter, sewers, and other locations.
- 03Vehicle sections
- Playable rides include a fanboat, submarine, airplane, and an unconventional rat-assisted journey.
- 04Minigame challenges
- A sequence of minigames forms part of Vince’s progress toward completing the quest.
Voodoo Vince: Remastered compared to similar games
Voodoo Vince: Remastered is a character platformer built around 30 levels, hazard-based attacks, vehicles, and minigames. Jusant centers on climbing, route choice, and environmental discovery, while Sundered: Eldritch Edition is described as a chaotic metroidvania. The listings for those alternatives do not describe the same vehicle-and-minigame structure.
