Our take on Viking Vengeance
God worship shapes combat: devotion unlocks divine powers and alternate fighting styles, while neglecting a god can anger him.
What is Viking Vengeance?
Viking Vengeance is an action RPG and rogue-lite dungeon crawler set in a historical-fiction world.
The player takes the role of a Templar with pagan roots and worships Norse gods to gain powers, blessings, and alternate fighting styles. Each of the two classes has distinct weapons, equipment, and skills. Combat also uses the environment: enemies can be thrown into hazards or lured into traps. When the character dies, blood can pay for an immediate revival; another option returns the character to the last save and restarts the world. Leveling offers new skills, upgrades, and equipment. The story follows the character’s effort to change the fate of his people as Ragnarok approaches.
How Viking Vengeance plays
- 01God worship
- Devotion unlocks god powers, while sacrifices and equipment can affect the chance of receiving help in battle.
- 02Two character classes
- Each class has its own gear, weapons, skills, and items that interact with the worship mechanic.
- 03Death choices
- Blood can buy an on-the-spot revival, while returning to the last saved location restarts the world and draws Valkyries.
- 04Environmental combat
- Physics and hazards let players use traps, cliffs, broken ice, and fire against enemies.
