- Strategy players who prefer changing battle layouts and repeated challenges
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players who prefer fixed battlefields may find the changing district and street layouts disruptive.
- Players who want immediate action may hit a wall when battles require planning around revealed enemy moves and attacks.
- Players seeking large-scale military command may find the focus on one customizable mech too narrow.
Our take on Vactics
The bounce point arrives when combat reveals the enemy’s next moves: players who dislike pausing to plan around attacks may lose interest there. Those seeking fixed maps can also hit a wall when district and street layouts change between challenges.
What is Vactics?
Build a mech from 16 types of technology, then alter it with tech mods and arcane cores.
Battles use turn-based, chess-like tactics: robotic Vactics reveal where they will move and attack, allowing actions to be planned around their intentions. Activating mech technology does not end the turn, so abilities can be used at carefully chosen moments. Solitude City changes its district and street layouts, creating a new randomly generated challenge for each playthrough. Citizens salvage mechs so technology remains available after failure, while rescuing lost pilots adds them to the fight. The game includes 75 achievements, gameplay Escalations, a Daily District challenge mode, and a Codex containing stories about Vactics, salvaged technology, modified equipment, and completed districts.

Vactics compared to similar games
Shogun Showdown centers on turn-based combat, attack tiles, deck building, and a rogue-like structure, while Vactics focuses on constructing a mech from technology, reading enemy actions, and fighting through changing city districts. Men of War: Assault Squad covers large-scale World War II battles with direct control of units, rather than Vactics’ mech-centered city campaign.
