Our take on UPPERS
The focus on a large fighter roster and spectacle-heavy melee combat comes at the expense of a narrower play structure. Its stated activities center on fighting, combos and environmental attacks rather than exploration or puzzle-solving.
What is UPPERS?
UPPERS is a beat-'em-up about two young men seeking the title of strongest fighter on Last Resort Island.
Players control two fighters from a roster of up to 13, with styles including kickboxing, martial arts, kenka and wrestling. Combat builds VOLTAGE, which can extend combos and trigger an Upper Rush involving hundreds of attacks. Fights also use the surroundings: cars, bicycles and motorbikes can become weapons, while opponents can be thrown into manholes or passing helicopters. The story spans seven chapters, multiple difficulty levels and many locations. The PC version is remastered in 1080p and 60FPS, supports higher resolutions, and includes text localization in English, French, Japanese, Korean, Traditional Chinese and Simplified Chinese.
